INCHEON, SATUHARAPAN.COM – Dua atlet tenis meja Indonesia Agus Sutanto dan David Jacobs berhasil merebut medali emas saat pertandingan Asian Para Games 2014 di Saungdo Global University Gymnasium pada Rabu (22/10) waktu setempat.
Atlet tenis meja Indonesia Agus Sutanto berhasil mengalahkan atlet Korea Selatan, Kim Ki Young di babak final dengan skor akhir 3-0, sementara David Jacobs mengalahkan Pitiyage dari Srilangka dengan skor akhir 3-1.
“Saya merasa senang dengan hasil ini,” ujar Agus Sutanto seusai pertandingan. Dengan hasil sementara, Deputi Kemenpora Bidang Peningkatan Prestasi Olahraga Djoko Pekik Irianto optimis Indonesia dapat masuk 10 besar sesuai target.
“Kami tentu saja merasa banggsa dengan para atlet kita terutama di enis meja yang hari ini membuahkan dua medali emas, hasil ini tentu saja mendekatkan kita ke target awal masuk 10 besar, kita berharap hasil ini dapat menginspirasi atlet-atlet yang lain,” kata Djoko Pekik.
Untuk pemberian penghargaan dan apresiasi kepada para atlet berprestasi yang meraih medali, Djoko Pekik menegaskan bahwa Kemenpora tetap akan memberikan penghargaan.
“Para atlet dan pelatih dalam konteks multieven kita berupaya memberikan bonus minimal sama dengan Guangzhou, Tiongkok tahun 2010, tetapi kita berharap lebih,” ujarnya.
Djoko Pekik berharap para atlet Indonesia di APG 2014 tetap terus berjuang karena masih banyak cabang lain yang berpeluang medali.
“Kami atas nama Kementerian Pemuda dan Olahraga memberikan apresiasi yang tinggi kepada para atlet, kepada atlet lain jangan mau kalah dari Mas Agus dan Jacobs, hari ini masih ada final di cabang renang harapan kita dari cabang yang lain bisa menambah perolehan medali untuk sisa waktu hingga tanggal 24 Oktober mendatang”, Djoko berharap.
Sementara itu senada dengan Djoko Pekik, Ketua NPC Indonesia Senny Marbun mengatakan bahwa perolehan kejuaraan ini berkat seluruh doa dari seluruh rakyat Indonesia.
“Saya berharap dari cabang tenis meja ini 1 medali emas lagi, bulu tangkis 2 emas, renang 2 emas dengan itu kita bisa masuk 10 besar setelah ini masih ada pertandingan yang akan final pada 24 Oktober mendatang,” Senny memungkasi. (kemenpora.go.id )
