Atlet Tenis Meja Indonesia Raih Prestasi Kejuaraan Internasional
Prestasi membanggakan berhasil diraih atlet-atlet tenis meja Indonesia pada suatu kejuaraan bernama, ‘VAVE Life International Table Tennis Champions League 2024 Under18’ yang diselenggarakan di Singapura pada 16-18 Maret 2024. Indonesia mengikutsertakan atlet putri U15 yang menjalani Pelatnas jangka panjang di Donic Table Tennis Training Center (DTTTC) di Desan Cariu, Kabupaten Bogor.
Beberapa negara berlaga pada kompetisi yang digelar Copytron Technologies Pte Ltd antara lain, Singapura, Indonesia, Myanmar, India, Filipina, dan Jepang. Merujuk peringkat internasional putri, Jepang dua wakil pada 10 terbaik dunia. Dengan kata lain, kejuaraan tersebut kompetitif.
Atlet putri Indonesia yang dibina Pengurus Besar Persatuan Tenis Meja Seluruh Indonesia (PB.PTMSI) meraih total empat medali. Atlet putri U-15 Vina Rona menjadi juara usai menang dari Nazla Arini Khairunissa pada All Indonesian Final. Hebatnya medali perunggu juga diraih atlet Indonesia Mutiara Razika Gumay.
Pelatih tenis meja Evie Sumendap menceritakan prestasi tersebut menarik perhatian Presiden International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Petra Sorling. Buktinya, Sorling aktif dalam penghormatan pemenang dan memberikan hadiah saat Gala Dinner.
Presiden ITTF Petra Sorling bersama atlet Indonesia saat Gala Dinner selain Under 18, ada juga pertandingan U18 dan U25 tahun, yang mana pada U25 ditambah Cina sebagai peserta. Satu lagi prestasi atlet Indonesia adalah medali perunggu yang diraih Nida Aulia Mughni pada U18.
Atas prestasi dunia yang membanggakan tersebut, Ketum Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia (KONI) Pusat Letjen TNI Purn Marciano Norman mengucapkan selamat.
“Kepada para atlet, pelatih, dan ofisial, saya mengucapkan selamat dan apresiasi setinggi-tingginya atas prestasi yang membanggakan ini. Berkat kerja keras dan semangat yang tinggi, Indonesia dapat dikenal karena prestasi olahraga tenis mejanya,” ucapnya,Senin(18/03/2024)..
Tak ketinggalan, apresiasi diberikan kepada PB.PTMSI yang dipimpin oleh Peter Layardi Lay.
“Atlet masa depan tenis meja Indonesia sangat membanggakan dan juga menjanjikan karena prestasi mereka mampu mendominasi podium. Saya berharap ini sebagai momentum kebangkitan tenis meja Indonesia. Saya ingin prestasi ini memotivasi lahirnya prestasi-prestasi selanjutnya, dan juga menambah jumlah para pecinta tenis meja di Tanah Air,” sambungnya.
“Prestasi ini bukti kemampuan Indonesia, oleh karenanya saya berharap agar para atlet dan pelatih tenis meja yang akan berlaga pada Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XXI/2024 di Aceh-Sumatera Utara dapat meniru pola latihan atlet nasional kita. Juara PON XXI nanti adalah atlet-atlet terbaik Indonesia yang siap mempersembahkan prestasi olahraga gemilang atas nama bangsa dan negara,” tambah Ketum KONI Pusat.
Pertandingan tenis meja direncanakan di GOR Angsapura Kota Medan. Persiapan kontingen secara maksimal sangat diharapkan, begitu juga dengan penyelenggaraan pertandingan.
